'Erasmus+ is the EU's programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe.' is how the EU website describes this unique project. Our school decided to take part in such a project from 2018 to 2020, these projects usually last for two years, but since I was leaving for Singapore in the summer of 2019, I could only participate in the first half. We worked with students and teachers from Austria, Sweden, Poland and Hungary to motivate the youth to read more again. I could not visit any of our partner countries and schools, but I hosted two polish students as the project week took place at my school. Over the course of the two years, each school meets a couple of times a month to work and reflect on their project work, in project weeks, a handful of students from each country visit the host country. When everyone was in Germany, we could work on projects together, do day trips and socialise. My group and I decided on a more creative approach and decided to do a bookslam on 'The Fault in Our Stars, meaning we made a short film, a tailor, for the book in which we acted as the leading characters. We filmed in my school and local town and edited and scripted together. At the end of the week, all our projects were presented, and we had a final dinner together before each group of students returned to their respective countries.

The project week was a lot of fun. Since two students stayed at my house, I got to know them better, and we became close friends, also with the other participants. Group work, project orientation and creativity were my main takeaways from this experience. I am very grateful that, even though I could not see the project's finalisation, I could learn from this experience, meet great people and contribute with my insights.
