Treasurer - Career Committee, ESN Utrecht

This is my second year at the Erasmus Student Network Utrecht as part of the Career Committee. Last year I gained some valuable skills as the PR officer, so this year, I decided to take up some new challenges as the Treasurer - as our committee was not big enough, I also continued to do the PR work in the end.

As the Treasurer, I was responsible for keeping the budget, making sure that the planning of our events was streamed-lined and following internal deadlines, and occasionally approaching outside parties. With every event we planned, there was a new spreadsheet to be approved by our Finance Committee, and I gained valuable skills in accounting and time management.

As this was already my second year on the committee, I provided some excellent ideas for events and connections with speakers we had from the last year. We started with a speed-dating where the participants could network, continued with a LinkedIn and later a Job Interview Workshop and planned some Alumni events. We received valuable positive feedback from our participants; since our events are usually not the most thought-after, as is the case for our party or activity committee, we were very grateful for the number of people that joined and actively participated in our events. We provided educational insights and helped international students in the Dutch job market and industries. Because I enjoy our work, I will continue my work on the committee for a third year next academic year; I'm looking forward to taking on a new role and working with a new committee to create another year of helpful events for the student association's members.
